Police Confirm Three Shot During Running Gun Battle Tuesday

Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 8:52 p.m. Tuesday.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that two vehicles were shooting at each other as they traveled between the 2600 block of Northeast Blvd. and the area of 11th and Kirkwood Street.

Police said they located a 23-year-old male gunshot victim and a 25-year-old male gunshot victim, who were transported to the hospital in stable condition. Police also located a 24-year-old male gunshot victim, who arrived at the hospital in critical condition.

Police worked several crime scene locations along the route of travel overnight. Investigators had to close the 12th Street Bridge during their investigation due to the number of shell casings found on the span.
