A New Castle Man has been charged with sexual solicitation of a child and released on unsecured bond, according to police.
Officials said Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested Nobert Matara, 30, of New Castle following an investigation. On October 31, 2022, officers responded to the unit block of Palmer Place – Kingston Court community in reference to a child luring complaint. A 13-year-old female victim reported that she was walking around her neighborhood at which time a red sedan drove by her and her friend. The victim stated that the vehicle then turned around and drove back toward them. The victim explained that the driver of the vehicle then began speaking to her about having sex and asked if she would get in his car according to police. The victim refused and the suspect drove away. The victim described the suspect as an adult black male with short black hair and facial hair.
Officials said officers and detectives working the case were able to identify a suspect as Nobert Matara through investigative measures. A warrant was approved for the arrest of Matara, and he was taken into custody on November 3, 2022, without incident. Matara was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2. Matara was issued $5,000.00 unsecured bail and was later released.
