Residents of Dover took to the voting booths to decide the future of their city government on Tuesday. Unofficial results have now been released in this contested mayor and city council races.
Incumbent Mayor Robin Christiansen topped his competition, winning with 900 votes while challenger Diane Welch received 526 votes. At the county council district level, Dr. Julia Pillsbury repeated her success in the 1st District with 320 votes, defeating Paul Fleming who received 190.
Brian Lewis, the incumbent 2nd District representative, fought back Donyale Hall’s challenge with a mere 48 vote margin – Lews would boast 252 votes to Hall’s 204. Lastly, Tricia Arndt in the 3rd district and Roy Sudler Jr in the 4th ran uncontested and will return to their respective seats on the council.
