On the evening of September 10, 2023, an incident occurred in Laurel, that prompted an investigation by the Delaware State Police.
This incident involved a homicide and a shooting, resulting in the loss of life and severe injuries.
Officials said at approximately 9:35 p.m. on Sunday night, the Laurel Police Department received a call reporting a shooting in the vicinity of West Sixth Street, located within the town limits of Laurel. In response to this call, law enforcement officers responded to the scene to assess the situation.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered 26-year-old Taylor German, of Laurel, Delaware seated inside a vehicle, having sustained gunshot wounds. Her injuries proved to be fatal, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additionally, a 41-year-old Millsboro man was also found to have been shot during this incident. He had sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care according to police.
Officials said their preliminary investigation indicates that an unidentified suspect or suspects opened fire on a vehicle occupied by both victims and a third person at the entrance to the Little Creek Apartments.
Subsequently, the victims drove to West Sixth Street, where they were contacted by the Laurel Police Department and received medical attention.
The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit has taken charge of this investigation and is urging anyone with information to contact them
Out of respect for her family and relatives, the woman’s identity is being withheld at this time according to police.
