Earlier this morning, at around 9:59, an accident occurred in the 500 block of South Madison Street in Wilmington police said Sunday.
The accident involved a 3-year-old male pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Just after 10:00, Wilmington Police Officers began responding to the parking lot of the Delaware Children’s Museum a block away.
While en route officers learned that the child had been rushed to Wilmington Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries police said in a press release.
The vehicle involved in the incident remained at the scene. The incident is being investigated by the WPD Traffic Unit.
