Delaware State Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Newark 7-11

The Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into an armed robbery that occurred at a 7-11 convenience store in Newark on October 27, 2023. The incident took place at approximately 9:43 p.m. at the store located at 699 E. Chestnut Hill Road.

According to authorities, troopers were dispatched to the scene following a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, they learned that an unknown male suspect had approached an employee at the store while brandishing a handgun. The suspect demanded cash from the register, to which the employee complied. The individual then left the premises on foot, taking with him an undisclosed amount of cash.

Despite immediate efforts to locate the suspect in the surrounding area, responding troopers were unsuccessful in apprehending him. The employee involved in the incident was not physically harmed.

The suspect has been described as a male wearing dark-colored clothing. The investigation is ongoing, and the Delaware State Police are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
