Fire In Cafeteria Fills Gunning Bedford Middle School With Smoke Thursday

Firefighters responded to a fire at Gunning Bedford Middle School on Thursday afternoon, with the initial call coming in around 2:30.

The incident, initially dispatched as an automatic fire alarm, escalated when callers reported an active fire involving a dishwasher in the school’s cafeteria.

Upon their arrival, fire crews from several fire companies confirmed a fire in the dishwasher. They quickly extinguish the flames. Following the containment of the fire, the crews began working to clear smoke from the cafeteria and adjacent areas of the building.

All medical assets have been released and no injuries have been reported.
