On 02/17/2024 at approximately 11:52 pm, a Milford Police Department Patrol officer was traveling eastbound on Milford Harrington Highway in the area of Williamsville Road.
Officials said the officer observed a gray pickup truck traveling westbound swerve into the eastbound lane. The patrol officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle at which time the operator of the vehicle disregarded the officer’s emergency lights and took off at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle fled westbound and after a short pursuit, the operator stopped on Milford Harrington Highway in the area of Cams Fortune Way in Harrington.
Officials said when officers made contact with the operator, they observed signs of impairment and a Driving under the Influence (DUI) investigation was conducted.
Through the DUI investigation, it was determined that the operator was under the influence of alcohol. The operator was identified as Kyle Comstock, 27 of Milford. During a search of the vehicle, officers located four unloaded firearms. Comstock was taken into custody without incident and transported back to the Milford Police Department.
Comstock was charged with Disregarding a Police Officer Signal, Possession of a Firearm while under the influence (4 counts), Driving a Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol, and other traffic-related charges.
Comstock was released on unsecured bail accoring to the police.
