On Thursday evening, just before 8:00, emergency crews were dispatched to a serious traffic accident on Route 13 near the intersection with Route 273 in New Castle.
According to preliminary reports, the incident involved a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider was transported to the trauma center in critical condition at the time of transport. There’s been no update on the riders injuries at this point.
A female passenger from the vehicle involved in the accident was also taken to Christiana Hospital. The specifics of her injuries, as well as her current condition, remain unclear at this time.
It’s unclear if anyone else was injured in the crash.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further information is expected to be released later today.
