Happening Now: Two Reportedly Shot Near Senior Center In Dover

On Tuesday afternoon, rescue crews were dispatched to the area of the Harmony at Kent senior-living center at 1435 East Lebanon Road following reports of a shooting incident. The call came in shortly after 5:40, and brought a response from Delaware State Police and several rescue crews.

Initial reports from the scene indicate that upon arrival, law enforcement and emergency medical personnel discovered two individuals suffering from serious gunshot wounds. Both victims are currently receiving urgent medical attention.

Authorities are advising the public to avoid Route 10 (E Lebanon Road) between Route 1 and South State Street in Dover, as Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) crews are closing the road.

DSP issued the following statement “Police Activity – Dover: Please avoid the area of the 1400 block of East Lebanon Rd. due to an ongoing criminal investigation. There is no threat to public safety related to this incident. We will provide updates as soon as more information is available”
