Woman Seriously Injured In Newark Crash Sunday

The Newark Police Department continues to investigate the incident that left a woman seriously injured Sunday morning.

At approximately 12:45 AM, the New Castle County Paramedics and the Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company of Newark were dispatched to the intersection of Marrows Road and Ogletown Road for a motor vehicle collision with entrapment. 

County Assistant PIO Jamielee Majewski reported that fire department units arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle that had left the roadway and collided with a pole. One patient was severely trapped within the vehicle, requiring a lengthy and methodical extrication. New Castle County Paramedics treated a 26-year-old female for possible internal injuries.

She was transported in serious condition to Christiana Hospital in Stanton on board an ambulance from the Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company.
