The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early this morning at a Wilmington area Valero gas station.
On August 27, 2024, at approximately 12:11 a.m., troopers responded to a report of a robbery at the Valero, located at 1327 McKennans Church Road in Wilmington.
Officials said the preliminary investigation showed that an unknown masked white male suspect entered the Valero, approached an employee while brandishing a firearm, and demanded money from the cash register. The employee complied and the suspect fled on foot in a southbound direction with an undisclosed amount of cash.
This morning First State Update told you that a reader reported that four New Castle County Police officers responded to the nearby Valero on Centerville Road just after 10:00 Monday night.
County has not released details regarding the Centerville incident. It’s not clear if the two incidents are related. The provided photo is from the Centerville incident.
