Victim Pistol-Whipped, Robbed At Redlight Thursday

The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon in Edgemoor.

Officials said on September 12, 2024, troopers were notified of an armed robbery that occurred at the intersection of Governor Printz Boulevard and South Stuyvesant Drive in Edgemoor. The preliminary investigation showed that the victim was in a vehicle that was stopped at a red traffic signal on Governor Printz Boulevard when an unknown armed suspect opened the victim’s door. The suspect struck the victim in the head with a handgun, and threatened to shoot him before taking his property. police said

The suspect then got into a small SUV that was operated by an unknown black male accomplice, who was also armed with a handgun, and they fled in an unknown direction with the victim’s property.

The first suspect is described as a light-skinned, possibly Hispanic, male. The second suspect is described as a black male.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is still investigating this.
