Student Found Dead At University Of Delaware Monday

The University of Delaware is mourning the death of a resident in George Reed Hall, as confirmed in an official notice sent to students yesterday. Sources familiar with the investigation tell FSU that the University of Delaware Police Department (UDPD), found an 18-year-old female student deceased in her dorm room during a welfare check at around 4:30 on Monday afternoon.

While the circumstances surrounding her passing have not been disclosed, authorities said in the notice that there is no safety concern for other residents of George Reed Hall or the larger UD community.

On Tuesday University staff offered mental health counseling services for those affected by the tragedy.
