Fire Damages 14 Vehicles At Apple-Scrapple Festival

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a vehicle fire that occurred on October 12, 2024, shortly after 3:00 PM in the 18000 block of Wesley Church Road in Bridgeville, Delaware. The fire was reported in a parking area used for the Apple-Scrapple Festival, an annual event in the town.

The Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Company, along with mutual aid fire companies, responded to the scene and discovered multiple vehicles on fire. After conducting an origin and cause investigation, Delaware Deputy State Fire Marshals determined that the fire started in a single vehicle and subsequently spread to 13 other vehicles. The resulting damage to the vehicles ranges from minor to severe.

Chief Deputy John M. Galaska of the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office stated that the fire is still under investigation, with no indications of criminal activity at this time. There were no injuries reported. The total damage is estimated to be around $300,000.
