Rollover Crash Closes 13, Injures Two In Dover Friday Morning

A rollover crash on North DuPont Highway Southbound in Dover sent two to the hospital Friday morning. The accident occurred just before 8:15 a.m. between West Denny’s Road and Fork Branch Road and closed the road for just under an hour.

According to initial reports, bystanders stopped to assist at the scene before emergency personnel arrived. Crews responding to the call had been informed that at least one individual was trapped inside the overturned vehicle. Upon arrival, they confirmed the entrapment, noting that one occupant was out of the vehicle, while the driver remained trapped.

Rescue personnel worked to free the driver, successfully extricating them several minutes after arrival. Following the rescue, one patient involved in the crash was transported by ambulance to Kent General Hospital. The driver was airlifted by Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 to Christiana Hospital’s Trauma Center.

Authorities are conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
