Wilmington Police are conducting investigations following two separate shooting incidents that occurred this afternoon.
The first incident occurred at approximately 12:35 p.m. in the 1300 block of East 28th Street. Police responded to the scene, discovering four men suffering from gunshot wounds. Among the victims was a 22-year-old male who was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he later succumbed to his injuries. A 34-year-old male victim was also listed in critical condition, while two others, a 21-year-old male and a 20-year-old male, were transported and treated for their wounds, with medical staff reporting their condition as stable.
Hours later, at approximately 4:27 p.m., another violent episode shook to place, this time in the 2900 block of Washington Street. Officers arrived and discovered two men, ages 19 and 20, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.
Local authorities are urging anyone with information related to either incident to come forward.
