On Monday, November 18, members of the Delaware State Police Honor Guard Team and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team visited the FBI Hazardous Devices School’s Bomb Technicians Memorial at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, to honor Delaware State Police Corporal David B. Pulling.
Corporal Pulling, a six-year veteran of the Delaware State Police, tragically lost his life on November 18, 1987, during a training exercise at the FBI Bomb Data Training Center at Redstone Arsenal. He was 31 years old when an explosive device detonated, fatally injuring him.
He began his service with the Delaware State Police on September 8, 1981, and served in several specialized roles, including the K-9 Unit, the Special Operations Response Team (SORT), and the Traffic Division at Troop 3 in Camden.
The Delaware State Police expressed gratitude for the tribute, stating, “We are deeply grateful for this meaningful recognition of his service and sacrifice. Thank you for honoring his legacy.”
The ceremony marked the 37th anniversary of Corporal Pulling’s passing and honored Pulling by naming the facility’s auditorium in his honor.
