File

On Friday, November 29, 2024, at 9:10. am., New Castle County Police officers responded to a shooting in the 400 block of Bethune Drive in Dunleith. Upon arrival, officers found two victims. A 46-year-old woman, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was located in the yard and was transported to Christiana Hospital in stable condition. Also in the yard, officers discovered 30-year-old Ciarre Hall, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation and determined that Ciarre Hall had confronted his 46-year-old mother over personal matters, during which he shot her multiple times before turning the weapon on himself. The Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed that Hall died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and his death was ruled a suicide.
