Police: Man Opens Fire During Altercation, Released On Unsecured Bond

On Tuesday, Patrol Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the 400 block of South Antlers Place following a report of shots fired.

Officials said officers learned that a verbal dispute occurred between a 40-year-old man attempting to exit a parking space and a woman walking her dog. The verbal dispute continued as the female contacted her boyfriend, 31-year-old Liljohn Ellison, who lived nearby and quickly arrived at the scene.

Police said Ellison attempted to confront the male driver, but as the driver began to drive away, Ellison fired a single shot according to police. Although the victim’s vehicle and individuals were not struck, the car was occupied by the victim’s juvenile daughter at the time. While officers were investigating this incident, Ellison approached them and acknowledged his involvement.

He was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he was charged with two felony counts of reckless endangerment in the first degree and one felony count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Ellison was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 02 and released on a $22,000.00 unsecured bond.
