Local Union Brings Holiday Joy To AI DuPont Hospital Friday

In a remarkable demonstration of community support, Local 1238, Delmarva Power’s union, raised an impressive $32,125 for the children at Nemours Children’s/AI DuPont Hospital. This year’s effort culminated in the purchase of 56 shopping carts full of toys from Target and two box trucks packed to the brim with donations, all delivered to the hospital today.

Since its inception in 2018, this initiative has seen extraordinary growth. Starting with a total of $5,000 in its first year, the fundraising efforts have expanded significantly, reflecting the dedication of Local 1238 and the generosity of the community. The donations aim to bring smiles and joy to the children at AI DuPont Hospital during the holiday season, ensuring they experience moments of happiness and comfort.

As a heartfelt gesture of gratitude, the children at AI DuPont Hospital created handmade ornaments for the members of Local 1238. These tokens of thanks hold a special place in the member’s hearts.
