Troopers Confirm Shooting Where Bullet Narrowly Misses 7-Year-Old Sleeping In Newark Home

A Newark family experienced a harrowing incident late Friday night when a stray bullet shattered the window of their home, narrowly missing a 7-year-old girl who was asleep on the couch.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:06 PM in the 900 block of South Old Baltimore Pike near Cooches Bridge. According to the family, a single shot was fired from a vehicle, piercing both panes of a front window and lodging inside the home.

The father of the young girl described the terrifying moment. “She was just inches away,” he said.

Delaware State Police were called to the scene, with multiple troopers responding to investigate. Officers searched the surrounding area and examined the home for hours according to the father.
