14-Year-Old Charged With Armed Robbery

Wilmington Police have arrested a 14-year-old male juvenile in connection to an armed robbery that occurred on January 13.

Officials said officers responded to the 300 block of West 6th Street at approximately 4:00 p.m. following reports of an armed robbery. The case was assigned to Detective Kevin Nolan of the Criminal Investigations Division, who subsequently identified the juvenile suspect according to police.

As the investigation progressed, Detective Nolan obtain warrants for the suspect’s arrest. On January 17, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1300 block of East 16th Street, where the juvenile was taken into custody without incident.

The 14-year-old male juvenile was charged with first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.

Following his arrest, the juvenile was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court. The court ordered that he be held at the New Castle County Detention Center, with bail set at $10,000 cash-only.

Authorities have not disclosed further details.
