Authorities Seek Help In Locating Suspect

The Newark Police Department is investigating an alleged Theft by False Promise incident from February 8, 2024, that they say occurred on the 300 block of East Main Street. Police said during this incident the suspect received payment for paint work at a business with an agreement to complete it.   The suspect never completed the painting and ceased contact with the business according to police.

After an investigation by the Newark Police Department, an arrest warrant was obtained for Edmond Triplett, 45, of Wilmington.  The warrant charges Triplett with Theft by False Pretenses.  He is also wanted by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas for a Violation of Probation that stemmed from a Home Improvement Fraud police said.

Since the warrant was obtained, officers have been unsuccessful in finding Triplett and are asking for the public’s assistance to help determine his whereabouts.
