Firefighters Battle House Fire in Red Lion Chase; Two Escape Partial Collapse

Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to a residential structure fire in the 800 block of Lowell Drive on Tuesday morning. The fire, reported at approximately 8:23 AM, brought a response of New Castle County Paramedics, Delaware City Fire Company, and several surrounding fire companies.

Upon arrival, fire crews encountered a single-family home with active fire conditions. Firefighters initiated interior operations to suppress the fire and conduct a search for potential occupants. No residents were reported to be inside the home at the time of the incident, and there were no civilian injuries.

During firefighting efforts, two firefighters became involved in a partial structural collapse inside the residence. Both firefighters were able to extricate themselves from the debris and were immediately evaluated by New Castle County Paramedics. Following the assessment, they declined further medical treatment at the scene.

The fire was brought under control after an extensive effort by responding units. Crews remained on scene to conduct overhaul operations and ensure complete extinguishment. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Responding agencies included New Castle County EMS (Paramedics), Delaware City Fire Company, Christiana Fire Company, Good Will Fire Company, Odessa Fire Company, Port Penn Fire Company, and Wilmington Manor Fire Company.
