Wilmington Police Delay Reporting Attempted Abduction Of 10-Year-Old Child

Wilmington Police are investigating a report of an attempted kidnapping incident, and are asking for the assistance of the public.

Officials said on February 24 at approximately 6:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the 2900 block of North Harrison Street in reference to a report of an attempted kidnapping involving a 10-year-old female victim. The suspect fled from the area after being bitten by the victim’s dog, and the victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’5”-5’9”, with a thin build, wearing all black and a face covering. He was last seen fleeing towards North Van Buren Street.

Officials waited a day to publicly report the indecent. WPD recently turned off their radios so our ability to assist in situations like this are limited.
