Head-on collision in Milford sends two hospital, one by air

Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Milford Harrington Highway and Canterbury Road in Milford early Sunday morning following reports of a head-on collision with entrapment.

Upon arrival, crews confirmed that both drivers were trapped in their vehicles and immediately began extrication efforts. At 7:16 a.m., the first patient was successfully freed, and approximately four minutes later, the second patient was also extricated.

Delaware State Police Aviation initially dispatched two helicopters to the scene. However, Trooper 4 was later recalled, while Trooper 2 transported one patient by air to Christiana Hospital in Stanton. The second patient was transported by ground to a local hospital for treatment.
