Three Injured in Route 1 Rollover Collision

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle rollover crash on Route 1 southbound near Kirkwood St. Georges Road on Monday night, March 10, 2025. The accident occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m., prompting an emergency response from New Castle County Paramedics, the Port Penn Fire Company, and the Delaware City Fire Company.

According to Assistant Public Information Officer Leslie Antonelli-Hobbs, emergency crews arrived to find both vehicles overturned. Paramedics assessed and treated three individuals at the scene before transporting them to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.

A 50-year-old male sustained head, torso, and extremity injuries and was transported in serious but stable condition by New Castle County Paramedics aboard a Delaware City ambulance.

A 48-year-old female was transported in stable condition by a Port Penn ambulance.

A 15-year-old female was also transported in stable condition by a Port Penn ambulance.

The Delaware State Police have taken charge of the investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
