Child Reportedly Struck ByVehicle Maryland Avenue Thursday

At approximately 8:24 p.m. on Thursday evening, emergency crews responded to the intersection of Maryland Avenue and Stroud Street in Wilmington following reports of a child being struck by a vehicle. Multiple rescue units arrived at the scene, including fire and EMS personnel.

Initial reports from the scene indicated that an 11-year-old boy was involved in the incident. The exact circumstances of how the child came into contact with the vehicle have not yet been confirmed, and officials have not released additional details regarding the driver or vehicle involved.

The child was provided emergency medical care at the scene before being transported by ambulance to Nemours Children’s Hospital for further evaluation.
