Late Night Shooting Sends Man To Trauma Center

Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Saturday night in the city’s west side.

Just before 11:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Harrison Street following reports of gunfire. Responding units located a male victim lying on the ground who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Rescue crews arrived shortly after and provided emergency medical treatment at the scene before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital. His condition has not been released at this time.

Officers were observed canvassing the area, interviewing witnesses, and gathering evidence as the investigation got underway. No information has been released regarding potential suspects or a motive.
