Wilmington Police Seek Public’s Help In Locating Murder Suspect

The Wilmington Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a July homicide.

On July 21, 2025, at approximately 10:02 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of North Franklin Street for reports of a shooting. Police found 50-year-old Donnell Seeney of Dover suffering from gunshot wounds. Seeney was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Following an investigation, detectives identified 30-year-old Nicodemus Morris as a suspect, police said Thursday. On September 2, 2025, a New Castle County Grand Jury indicted Morris on multiple charges, including Murder.

Authorities urge anyone with information about Morris’ whereabouts to contact police immediately. In addition to calling 9-1-1, information can be provided directly to Sgt. Robert Fox of the Criminal Investigations Division at [email protected] or (302) 576-3625.

Police stressed that community assistance is critical in locating Morris and ensuring he is taken into custody.
