Utility Pole Destroy’s Car In Brandywine, Woman In Serious Condition

Wilmington – This morning, Sunday April 9, 2017, at approximately 7:00 am, New Castle County Paramedics, Claymont and Talleyville Fire Companies were dispatched to the intersection of Naamans Road and Brandywine Parkway in Wilmington for a motor vehicle crash with a report of entrapment, according to Paramedic First Class Yvonne T. Russell.

Upon arrival, County Paramedics found one vehicle that struck a pole. The patient, a 49-year-old female, was confined to her vehicle. Personnel from responding fire companies utilized about thirty minutes to remove the patient from her vehicle.

The patient suffered injuries to her leg, wrist, shoulder and head. The patient was treated on scene for injuries and transported via Delaware State Police helicopter to Christiana Hospital. The patient is in serious condition at the time of transport.

Delaware State Police are investigating the crash.
