Victim Survives Laurel Shooting As Police Recover Alleged Ghost Gun

The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon in Laurel.

According to investigators, troopers responded to TidalHealth Nanticoke on May 9, 2026, at approximately 3:20 p.m., after a 19-year-old man arrived by private vehicle suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The preliminary investigation determined the victim had been shot in front of a residence on Portsville Road near Randall Street in Laurel by an unknown suspect. The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit assumed the investigation.

Detectives later learned the victim had been transported to the hospital in a blue Mazda 3 driven by 20-year-old Alexison Amisial of Georgetown. Troopers located the vehicle and Amisial at First Stop Gas Station.

Amisial was transported to Troop 4, where he was charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon – Firearm and Possession of an Untraceable Firearm, both felony offenses. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on a $3,500 unsecured bond.
