U.S. Marshals Track Down Fugitive Wanted In Delaware Attempted Murder Case

A man accused of firing multiple shots into an occupied apartment in the Village of Barrets Run Apartments earlier this year has been arrested in New York.

New Castle County Police said officers responded to the 700 block of North Barrett Lane at approximately 4:03 a.m. on March 15, 2026, for reports of shots fired. Investigators determined that gunfire struck a residence occupied by both an adult and a juvenile victim. Authorities said bullets shattered windows and damaged a bed inside the apartment, though neither victim was injured.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Unit and Evidence Detection Unit assumed the investigation and later identified 26-year-old Emanuel Greaves, of Wilmington, as the suspect. According to investigators, Greaves intentionally targeted the residence before opening fire on the home.

Police said arrest warrants were issued for Greaves, but efforts to locate him in Delaware were unsuccessful. On Friday, May 8, 2026, members of the United States Marshals Service in Albany, New York, located Greaves at a residence in Troy, New York. He was taken into custody on an out-of-state fugitive warrant and transported to Troy Police Department headquarters.

Authorities said Greaves is awaiting extradition to Delaware, where he is expected to face two felony counts of Attempted Murder in the First Degree and one felony count of Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony.
