Man Seriously Injured In Tuesday Morning Rollover

A single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 295 southbound and Interstate 495 in New Castle left a man trapped inside his vehicle Tuesday morning.

According to New Castle County Emergency Medical Services, paramedics and multiple fire companies were dispatched to the area at approximately 11:17 a.m. for reports of a motor vehicle collision with entrapment.

First responders arrived to find a vehicle that had left the roadway, rolled over in the median, and came to rest on its side.

The driver, described as an approximately 41-year-old man, was trapped inside the wreckage. Firefighters freed him in about 20 minutes using hydraulic rescue tools.

New Castle County Paramedics treated the man at the scene for a head injury and possible internal injuries before transporting him to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in serious condition.

Responding agencies included New Castle County EMS, Minquadale Fire Company, Holloway Terrace Fire Company, Minquas Fire Company of Newport, Cranston Heights Fire Company, Five Points Fire Company, and Wilmington Manor Fire Company.

The Delaware State Police is investigating the crash.
