A person was transported to Christiana Hospital after being shot Saturday afternoon at the Woodstream Garden Apartments community in Claymont.
According to initial reports from the scene, first responders located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. The victim was treated at the scene before being transported to Christiana Hospital. The extent of the victim’s injuries has not been released.
Officers with the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the apartment complex and are investigating the shooting.
In a statement, police said officers are investigating a shooting in the 900 block of Peachtree Road within the Woodstream Garden Apartments community. Authorities have not released the victim’s age, gender, or condition, and no information regarding potential suspects or the circumstances leading up to the shooting has been made public.
