Teenage Girl Shot In Wilmington Transported To Hospital

Wilmington – Last evening, April 10, 2017, at approximately 8:40 p.m.  Wilmington Police Officers responded to  the 600 block of W. 6th Street regarding a “Shot Spotter” notification about gunfire in the area, according to police.

Officials said a 17-year-old girl was found in the 500 block of W. 6th Street suffering from a single gunshot wound to her forearm. The victim was treated at the scene  by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to Christiana Hospital in good condition, according to police.

Assisting officer’s located a  crime scene  in the 600 block of W. 6th Street. The circumstances surrounding this shooting incident remain under investigation.
