Three Seperate Shootings In Wilmington Yesterday, One In Critical

Wilmington – Three people where struck by gunfire in the streets of Wilmington yesterday, Tuesday April 25, 2016.

First Shooting 11:10 a.m.

The first shooting happened at approximately 11:10 am. Wilmington Police Officers responded to the area of the 100 block of N. Vanburen Street in reference to a Shot Spotter Notification of gunfire.

As officer’s were arriving into the area information was received of a possible victim in the area of the 100 block of N. Jackson street. Arriving officer’s located a male victim, approximately 19-years-old suffering from apparent gunshot wound to his arm at this location. The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

Assisting officer’s were able to locate a shooting scene in the 100 block of N. Van Buren Street as well as the 1000 Block of Pleasant Street.

 

In that shooting there were reports from the scene that indicate that shots were fired while EMS was on scene and that a suspect was seen running away.

Second Shooting 7:00 p.m.

Wilmington Police Officers responded to the area of the 1700 block of N. Church Street in reference to a Shot Spotter Notification of gunfire.

Additional information was received that a shooting victim had responded to a residence located in the 1700 block of N. Pine Street.

The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

Arriving officer’s located a 18-year-old male victim who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his right arm. The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Wilmington Hospital Emergency Room in good condition.

 

Third Shooting 9:16 p.m.

Wilmington – Happening now. Reports indicate that at approximately 9:16 pm, Wilmington Police Officers responded to the area of the 900 block of Maryland Avenue in reference to a possible shots fired, as well as a Shot Spotter notification of gunfire.

Arriving officer’s located a 28-year-old male down on the porch of a residence in the block suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper torso area. The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital in critical condition. Reports indicate that medics were performing CPR on the victim.
