Wilmington – The victim in last evening’s shooting in the 900 block of Maryland Avenue succumbed to his injuries at Christiana Hospital. The victim has been identified as Brian Brooks ,29, of Wilmington.

Wilmington – Happening now. Reports indicate that at approximately 9:16 pm, Wilmington Police Officers responded to the area of the 900 block of Maryland Avenue in reference to a possible shots fired, as well as a Shot Spotter notification of gunfire.
Arriving officer’s located a 28-year-old male down on the porch of a residence in the block suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper torso area. The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Hospital in critical condition. Reports indicate that medics were performing CPR.
