Wilmington – Just after 9:00 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, Delaware State Police were in pursuit of a vehicle on I-495 NB. Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle’s front tire was blown out and was riding on the rim, reaching speeds of 70 mph.
Delaware State Police continued the pursuit into Pennsylvania calling for Pennsylvania State Police to join the chase.
Shortly after Pennsylvania State Police joined in the fleeing vehicle crashed into one of the PA State Troopers patrol vehicle.
Trooper 4 was called to provide air support for the pursuit but was not utilized as the crash involving the PA trooper ended the pursuit.
The chase ended at Exit 9B in Essington, PA just south of the airport. Its unclear how the pursuit began.
