Police Thank Community For Identifying Suspect

New Castle – On their Facebook page New Castle County police said “Thanks for your help with this investigation!”

New Castle County Police have arrested 38-year-old Kenneth Stearrett in reference to nine (9) burglaries throughout New Castle County.

On July 15, New Castle County Police Detectives requested the public’s assistance in identifying a burglary suspect. The public responded by submitting multiple tips which resulted in the identification and subsequent arrest of Kenneth Stearrett.

On Monday (July 25) Kenneth Stearrett was arrested and charged with nine (9) counts of felony burglary and other related offenses. Seven (7) of the burglaries occurred in Wilmington in the following communities: one (1) in Bretton Woods, two (2) in Hyde Park, two (2) in Parkwood and two (2) in Westgate Farms. Two (2) of the burglaries occurred in Newark in the following communities: one (1) in Old Mill Manor and one (1) in Brookhaven.

Kenneth Stearrett was arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of $23,000 cash-only bail.
