Man Robbed At Gunpoint On Madison Drive – Newark

Newark Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on July 14th at approximately 10:30am on Madison Drive.

During that incident, the victim, a 50 year old male, was walking in the alley behind the odd numbers houses on Madison Drive just off of Lincoln Drive.

The victim walked by a gold or beige car which had two black male suspects in it. Suspect #1 exited the vehicle and asked for a cigarette which the victim provided.

Unbeknownst to the victim, suspect #2 exited the vehicle during this exchange. Suspect #2 then displayed a handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the victim after a brief struggle.

The suspects fled in their vehicle in an unknown direction and the victim then walked to the police station to report the crime.

Suspect #1 is described as a black male, approximately 5’11” to 6’0”, 170-190 lbs in his early 30s.

Suspect #2 is described as a black male – no further details are available.
