Dover – Dover Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Friday morning. Police said that at approximately 1:23 a.m, officers responded to the area of S. State Street, just south of Roosevelt Avenue for a body in the roadway. Officers discovered that Gregory Scott Jr. (42) was struck by an unknown vehicle in the northbound lanes of S. State Street.
The victim was dragged approximately 60 feet as the vehicle continued to drive and flee the scene, according to police. Gregory Scott was pronounced dead by Kent County EMS on scene, as a result of the injuries suffered in the accident. This case remains under investigation at this time.
