Man Trapped In Car After Crash

New Castle County Paramedics responded to DuPont Parkway and Hyetts Corner Road, in Odessa, for a motor vehicle collision with a subject trapped, according to paramedic spokeswoman Sergeant Abigail E. Haas.   Haas said that emergency responders arrived on scene to find a two vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and sedan, in which the operator of the sedan was trapped.

Fire department personnel from the Odessa and Port Penn Fire Companies freed the man in less than 10 minutes.  The operator of the sedan, a 47 year old male, was treated on scene by the Paramedics for a head injury, and possible chest and back injuries, before he was flown to the Christiana Hospital, in Stanton aboard the Delaware State Police helicopter, in serious condition, said Haas.

The 36 year old male operator of the pickup truck was treated on scene by the Paramedics for possible facial and chest injuries, before being transported to the Christiana Hospital, in Stanton, in stable condition.   The Delaware State Police were on scene investigating the incident.
