Newark Rite-Aid Robbed In Broad Daylight

Newark – Delaware State Police said that at around 4:45 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016, as a man entered the Rite Aid Pharmacy located at 25 East Chestnut Hill Road. The man approached a the store clerk who was standing behind the pharmacy sales counter, police said.

According to authorities the suspect presented him with a demand note for medication. Police said that the note implied that the suspect was armed, however, a weapon was not displayed.

Officials said the clerk complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of various medications. The suspect then exited the store and was last seen fleeing in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5’05”- 5’07” tall, 160-180 lbs., with a mask covering his face (No further physical or clothing description).

There are no video surveillance photos available to be released at this time.
