Sub Shop Robbed At Knifepoint

Newark Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Newark area sub shop that occurred last night, according to Public Information Officer Master Corporal Jeffrey R. Hale.

Hale said that the incident occurred on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at aroound 8:40 p.m., as a man entered the Casapulla’s Sub Shop located at 2480 Glasgow Avenue, Newark. The suspect, who was armed with a knife, confronted a female clerk and demanded money from the cash register, Hal said. The clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to him. He then exited the store and fled in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as a white male in his thirties with blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and had a mask covering his face. There is no further physical or clothing description available. No video surveillance photos are available to be released at this time.
