Toll Plaza Crash, One In Critical

Dover – State Police said that at around 3:13 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2016 Juan Busto Iniestas, 55 of Pennsylvania, was operating a 1995 GMC Jimmy northbound on SR 1 Dover.

Police said the man was traveling between the right EZ Pass lane and the median just south of the Main Toll Plaza. His vehicle was seen swerving between the left and right lanes of travel on northbound SR 1, according to police. For unknown reasons the vehicle struck the guardrail end that divides the EZ Pass lanes from the cash toll lanes. After the collision a mini motorcycle stored in the trunk area of the vehicle was pinned up against the windshield.

Juan Busto Iniestas, 55 of Pennsylvania, was treated at the scene and then transported by EMS to the Kent General Hospital where his is listed in critical but stable condition. He was cited for Driving Without a Valid License, Failure to have Insurance Identification in Possession, Failure to have Registration Card in Possession, and Failed to Remain within a Single Lane.

The Delaware State Police is continuing their investigation into this incident. SR 1 northbound in the area of the crash was impacted for approximately two hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
