Make Delaware A Sanctuary State?

Colin Bonini Calls on Carney for Yes or No on Making Delaware a Sanctuary State

Dover – On Monday, State Senator Colin Bonini proposed legislation that would prevent Delaware from becoming a sanctuary state. “If Delaware became a sanctuary state it would become a magnet for illegal immigration and a refuge for criminal illegal immigrants,” stated Bonini.

Today, Senator Bonini is calling on his gubernatorial opponent, Congressman John Carney, to state his position on whether he believes Delaware should become a sanctuary state.

“Look, I like and have tremendous respect for Congressman Carney.  But Delawareans deserve to know where he stands on this important issue.” Bonini continued, “Today, I am calling on him to state his position, a simple yes or no, on whether Delaware should be a sanctuary state. Giving half answers and talking about what Congress should do is simply not fair to Delawareans.”

He concluded, “This is a state issue and Delawareans deserve to know where their candidates for governor stand. I hope John will give Delawareans a straight yes or no answer on making Delaware a sanctuary state. We deserve to know.
