Home Invasion Shots Fired

Selbyville Delaware State Police are currently investigating a residential burglary in which shots were fired at the homeowner that occurred early this morning, according to State Police Spokesman Master Corporal Jeffrey R. Hale.

Hale said the incident occurred, Sunday, November 27, 2016 at approximately 2:21 a.m., as a man entered a residence located in the 32000 block of Sanbru Lane, Selbyville. The man remove a pair of guns from a room inside of the house. He then located and removed a third gun from inside of a table drawer. As this was occurring, a 67 year old occupant of the home awoke and confronted the suspect. He then chased the suspect out of the house.  As he was fleeing, the suspect fired two shots from one of the guns which caused the homeowner to retreat back into the residence, according to Hale.

The suspect then fled in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.

During a subsequent search of the area, troopers were able to recover two of the three guns, ammunition, and numerous coins which had been dropped by the suspect as he fled the area.
