Serious Hit and Run Near Georgetown

Georgetown – The Delaware State Police are investigating a serious hit and run crash that occurred early this morning leaving a woman in critical condition, according to Master Corporal Gary Fournier.

hit-and-run-georgetownTroopers responded to the entrance of County Seat Garden Mobile Home Development off Wilson Road around 5:48 a.m., Wednesday November 16, 2016, for a report of a woman lying on the side of the road. Upon troopers and Emergency Medical Services arrival, a 56-year-old female from was treated on scene by paramedics and then airlifted to Beebe Healthcare where she is currently listed in critical condition.

Preliminary investigation suggests the woman was struck by an unknown vehicle along Oak Street in the area of Garden Circle within the development. No vehicle description is available at this time.

Fournier ask that if anyone has any information in reference to this incident they are asked to contact Corporal N. DeMalto of the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 302-703-3267. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via the internet at www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword “DSP.”
